What we keep, and what we don't.

Sanatan AI is a place people bring things they have not said out loud. That sets the bar for this page: it is written to be read, not to be complied with.
What we store
- Your phone number, Google account or Apple ID. Only to know it is you when you come back. Sign-in is handled by Firebase Authentication; we never see or store a password.
- Your conversations with a guide. So a conversation you left yesterday is still there today. They are tied to your account and are not shown to anyone else.
- What you saved and what you finished — bookmarks, likes, practice completions and your streak.
- Your preferences — reading language, Divine Talk language, preferred guide, whether the opening bell sounds.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
- We do not use your conversations to train a model.
- We do not read your conversations to build a profile of you.
- There is no advertising in the app, and nothing in it follows you across other apps or websites.
Who else sees what
To answer you, a guide's reply is generated by a language model run by a third-party provider. The text of your message is sent to that provider to produce the reply. We do not send your phone number, your email or your name with it.
Firebase (Google) handles sign-in and stores uploaded artwork. If you choose Sign in with Apple, Apple confirms it is you, and can hide your real email behind a relay address. Our servers and database are hosted with our infrastructure provider.
PostHog tells us how the app is used — which screens are opened, whether a practice is finished, whether a notification was tapped — and sends the notifications you allow. It receives an anonymous account ID, your language and guide preferences, and your device's notification token. It never receives what you write to a guide, your phone number, your email or your name, and screen recording is switched off. Those usage events stay with PostHog after an account is deleted, under an ID that no longer leads to anyone.
Notifications
Only if you allow them — the app asks once, and asks the system only after you say yes. A verse in the morning and a note when something new arrives. Turn them off at any time in your phone's Settings.
Deleting everything
You → Delete account, in the app. It removes your account, your conversations, your saved verses, your practice history and your preferences. It is immediate and it is not reversible — there is no thirty-day window in which we quietly keep a copy.
If you cannot reach the app, email hello@sanatanvichar.com from the address or with the phone number on the account and we will do it for you.
Children
Sanatan AI is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.
Scripture and artwork
Translations are credited to their translators in the app, next to the verse. Artwork is public-domain devotional painting, attributed where it is shown. If you believe something here is used wrongly, write to us and we will take it down while we check.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that affects what we store or who sees it, we will say so in the app rather than only editing this page.
